1. Franco-Prussian War (July 19, 1870)
Explanation: The Franco Prussian War was a conflict between Germany and France. The current Prussian leader wanted to rid Germany of any France influence. The French ruler was not willing to agree to those terms. This tension sparked a war which lasted a year. During this time, The French took a chunk of Germany's land , called the Alsace-Lorraine. This war kept tensions between European countries high for many years.

2. The Schlieffen Plan Created (December 1905)
Explanation: The Schlieffen plan was a well-thought out preparation for a two-front war. This plan was created for the possibility of both Russia and France attacking Germany by both boarders. It contained a specific outline of how, where, and when to do something. The Schlieffen Plan was written by General Count Alfred von Schlieffen. The Schlieffen Plan eventually came very handy in 1914.
